Making Up for Lost Time

I have to say that it is good to be back out in blog land. For some reson Barry thinks that he needs to use the computer all the time for his job - how dare he, right. Barry started his new job on April 2 and it is going very well. He is learning a lot and is thoroughly empressing his co-workers.

Let's see, what else...OH!...Hannah is going to start going to school on Wednesday as well as Monday starting this week. There was an opening in the class on that day and she really likes school so I thought she could finish out the school year going at least two days (like Caleb) and possibly more if I sub at the school. Speaking of school, one day this week we were getting ready for school and went to pick out clothes. As she is looking at her clothes in the closet she says the following, "I have to pick out something that will be pretty." And the other day whene she didn't want to get dressed she told me the she didn't have anything to wear.

Caleb is doing well. He has become quite an artist lately. Some of his pictures are shown below. Oh, he is also batting the ball really well. Barry and Caleb went on a special trip to Wal-Mart yesterday to pick out a whiffle bat and some balls and then yesterday afternoon we spent a while in the backyard "playing baseball". I realize that I am a bit prejudiced, but the boy has very good batting form. He was talking today about playing more, so I have a feeling this will become a regular activity.

What else...the kids had a slumber party on Friday night. Our good friends, Alan and Shari, took us to odinner on Friday night. Their daughter, Autumn, came over to our house and Shari's nieces Beth Ann and Sarah then babysat the kids. I do believe that fun was had by all. Saturday morning Caleb came in my room and told me that "they might die if they didn't eat breakfast soon". I took that as a pretty strong hint that they were a little hungry.

Isn't that sweet. Our betrothed children having a sleep-over.
And here is Miss Hannah.

And here is the whole layout of the whole room during the sleepover.

This is some of Caleb's artwork. There are two pictures of LarryBoy, one of Pac-Man, one of Spiderman (I think) and then a landscape. He is quite versatile.

Hannah did not want me to take her picture so she is making a face or holding her breath, not sure which one.

And here she is pushing her baby in the swing.

Caleb and Hannah got these shirts in their Easter baskets. How cute, don't you agree?

And this is what my children do with bubbles. Some kids blow them into the air, but not mine, they pour them on the driveway and then walk around in them!

Here they are after a day of playing and getting dirty and sticky, like all 3 and 5 years old kids do.

Hannah was ready for her close-up.

Caleb playing with his tractor.

Oh, and I had to get a picture of this. If you look really closely at Hannah's sandwich you will find a fried egg. Now, Hannah will eat this if I call it a "breakfast" sandwich, but if I mention the word "egg" she says that it's yucky and then won't eat it. And Caleb is eating his favorite food - the pancake.

And this is what our yard looked like on Saturday, April 14. I don't know if we set any records, but it was quite interesting to thave snow on the ground in mid-April.

Catching Up

Hi all. Well, I don't really have much to say today. The kids are well. Oh, I do have a funny - this evening Hannah was supposed to be cleaning up her room. Well I heard her whining in the hallway and asked her what was wrong. Her response was that her "thumbs hurt" so she couldn't help pick up. What will the child come up with next.
Caleb and I attended Kindergarten round-up last week. Now he keeps wanting to know when he will be going to the new school. I need to mark it on the calendar for him - he likes to see things that way. The kindergarten teachers were impressed that he could spell his name for them. But since we all know that he is a genius, it is no surprise to us what he can do, right?
The pictures below are a little out of order (I'm still learning), so I will explain as we go.
Hannah in one of her many outfits one day.
Caleb with his Happy Meal toys. I couldn't take the picture without him holding them. He thought you all would want to see them.

Hannah in outfit number 2 for the day...

Our home church held service at the Kansas City Hospice and provided a meal. Here are Caleb, Hannah and a friend eating lunch after church that day.

One of the hospice residence treated us to a karaoke concert. The kids danced and danced and danced. We all really enjoyed the concert.
Caleb was enamored with this fountain. I kept having to tell him that it was not for his hands.
One day last week we were out playing and it started to rain lightly. The kids were so excited because they were able to play with their birthday umbrellas.
And I just had to get a picture of this. Hannah added some hair accessories before we went outside.
Hope everyone has a great week. I am going to try to post more this week. Hopefully these pictures will make up for the delay.
