Catching up - Part 5

Mother's Day - First, I have to say that I have the best mom in the world. She was and still is such a wonderful example of what a mom is - selfless, caring, always loving, inventive, giving, resourceful...I could go on and on. And I have the greatest MIL and I know for a fact that I am her favorite daughter-in-law. I also have two wonderful grandmothers who have always influenced my life in great ways. I am so blessed to have all of the women in my life. And I am blessed that all of these women know and have a personal relationship with God and have passed that love on to me.
---
My sweet honey surprised me with some beautiful hot pink roses. They were just gorgeous and were so fragrant.

This card is so appropriate for us. Hannah is always wanting to cuddle with us. On a side note, if you expand this picture look at Caleb's signature on the card to the left.
The first reason I am a mom.
The second reason I am a mom.

Catching up - Part 4

Baseball (coach pitch style) - Caleb is playing baseball!!! And he is doing so great as the pictures below will show. He bats right handed but throws left handed. He likes the batting part of the game, but gets a little distracted in the field. Enjoy.

---

C warming up before his first game.
His first at bat. Check out that stance!
Out in the field.

Another at bat. Again, the stance is great.

Expand this picture to the the smile. C saw us taking a picture and "cheesed" for us.
Manning first base. Could he take after his father?
Warming up on deck.

A third at bat.
Ooh...expand this one and you can see that he just hit the ball...
And he made it to first...
And then made it home. C did great during his first game. It will be interesting to see how he progresses this season.
And here is a picture of H that I decided to throw in. She is reading to all of her "babies". How sweet is that.

Catching up - Part 3

California - Our preacher, Curt Sparks, and our praise team were invited to particiapte in the lectureship held at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Barry and I have been before, but the beauty of the campus and the whole Malibu area takes my breath away each time we go. The pictures below just don't do justice but if you haven't been, maybe this will give you a little hint of how gorgeous this area is. And there will not be any pictures of the kiddos since they didn't come with us - sorry.

Flying above the clouds and enjoying some sunshine and leaving gray days in KS.

Some mountain ranges that we flew over.

Snowcapped mountains.Stauffer Chapel - where we had our evening programs. It was so beautiful.
The beach that wen on forever.

Barnacles? on posts at the Santa Monica Pier.

Anybody know what the purpose of this is? Do you climb through the hatch if there is a fire on the pier?

If so, why is it locked?

Yup, I was there.

My view from my table at lunch one day.

Where we ate lunch. Could the seafood have been any fresher?

A view of the ocean from the Pepperdine campus. I took this on my way up the 200+ steps from the fieldhouse to the campus commons.

A close-up of those beautiful flowers. Anyone know what they are?

Another view from the campus.

Another campus view. Seriously, how does anyone make it to class there.

Catching Up - Part 2

Easter - Our church hosted an Easter Egg Hunt and the kids had so much fun. After spring break in TX, Granny came back to KS with us. It was so great to have her here during Easter. The last time she was with us for Easter, Hannah had just come home from the hospital. I'm sure this time was a little more fun.

C getting a fun balloon hat.
Pretty cool, huh?
Did you notice the new "facial hair"?

How sweet are these kiddos?

Granny helping H scope out some easter eggs.
H started out passing over all eggs that were not pink. She did change her mind and start t oget other colors. You know, more is always better when it comes to easter eggs.
C on his hunt.
Did they do good or what? Nice haul.
Very cool - a pic with the Easter Bunny.
