Such a big girl!

Hannah finally started to school yesterday. Since Caleb started to school (2.5 weeks ago), Hannah has been asking me every morning if she was also going to school and I had to keep telling her "No, not today". Needless to say, she was so excited to put on her backpack, pack her lunchbox and go to school.

So CUTE! And no, she did not wear the flower headband to school.
Have I mentioned how cute she is?
I thinks she's cute - you? Can you guess her favorite color?
Like the backpack? It used to be her diaper bag. I was afraid that she would insist on a Princess backpack, but so far she's fine with this.
I took this because I wanted to show that the backpack is almost as big as Hannah. I can't put too much in it or she might fall over backwards. Hannah found this praying mantis sitting on our front door window. I just thought it was neat and wanted to share.
Pretty cool, huh?

Summer Recap

I know, I know - it's about time I got our summer pictures posted. I finally moved all of the pictures from Barry's computer to my computer and then I had to sort through all of the pics to get rid of all of the horribly blurry ones. And just so you will know, these pics go from most recent (at the top) to the oldest (at the end of the post). We truly did have a great summer and I can't wait to go visiting again next summer. Oh and for those of you who are wondering, Caleb is still enjoying school and tomorrow, Aug. 29 is picture day for him. Hopefully he will take a nice picture - we will see.
--
These are what Caleb's toes looked like when I picked him up from school today. I hoping that he didn't go to school with them like this and that they got dirty during recess. I guarantee you that I will now be checking his toes better - I mean GROSS! And since I was taking pictures of Caleb's toes, Hannah thought I also needed to take pictures of hers, too. They are cute, aren't they.
This week is the last week that our neighborhood pool will be open, so we went on Sunday afternoon for a bit.
And they wanted to do some silly faces - beautiful, aren't they.
Trying to take a pic of me and Hannah.
And me and Caleb.
Caleb just chillin'.
Hannah in a pout about something - not sure what, though.
I made lasagna on Saturday for dinner and Hannah helped.
More great helping. And she loved eating it, too.
Just posing. For some reason she thinks that people think she is so cute. I don't know where she got that idea...do you?
The kids posing with Caleb's Web-kinz. After finishing his first full week of school he was able to pick out a treat - the tiger one. And I stressed to him that this was not going to be a weekly thing - this was a special treat. Another "family" picture. Caleb got his first one (the frog) from Aunt Jeana` and cousin Anna.
While we were in Texas, my parents and I were able to celebrate our birthdays together - we all have the same birthday. This is a picture of the aftermath. I know, it looks like we are just missing the Christmas tree with all of the tissue paper on the floor.

My dad's big birthday present was bed frame extenders (in the long box) and then he got to pick out new mattresses. He had not been sleeping well since my sister took his bed (a queen) after she got married. Poor dad, two year of bad sleeping (on a full). However, he has been sleeping much better since he got his new bed - so he says (wink, wink). I did get to lay down on the new mattress and I have to say, it was SUPER comfy. Got me thinking that maybe I need a new mattress.
The kids playing with all of the tissue paper.
Where is Hannah??
More birthday pictures.
Me looking at the movies that I got - all of the Janette Oke "Love Comes Softly" series. Loved reading those books, can't wait to watch the movies this winter -when it's too cold to do anything outside.
Aunt Katie with the kids - they wore her out.
On the way to Tyler after visiting the dentist (for the first time) in Paris.
Needless to day, I enjoyed a quiet drive to Tyler.
Dr. Clint - our favorite dentist.
Hannah let Clint look in her mouth and count her teeth, but that was it. Hey, I'm just glad that we were able to get that much done.
Caleb's clean teeth.
Caleb being a great patient.
Still doing a great job!
About to begin!
Hannah and her friend Honor at Camp Deer Run. Check out Hannah's shoes - not really camping compatible, huh? but that is definitely Hannah. She is such a girly girl. Aren't they just stinkin' ADORABLE!!!
Making silly faces.
I was trying to get a picture of Caleb's filthy face. He is ALL boy the dirtier the better. Remember the dirty toes earlier in the post?
Caleb riding a horse. I know, the picture is not very clear, but this is probably the best picture of this.
Me and Roselyn (Clint's daughter) at Camp Deer Run. You can see more pictures of her here - http://www.clintandrachelspencer.blogspot.com/
Caleb playing on the camp playground.
Miss Hannah on the tire swing. Like the shirt? It used to be mine. Thanks mom for saving all of those dresses/shirts.
Hannah about to pour out the pool water at Nana and Poppie's house.
Caleb moving his pool.
They used most of the pool water to water all of the flower beds, instead of just dumping the water out.
Watering the flower beds.

My Papa has been driving bulldozers for 60 years or so. While we were in TX, he was working on a project, so the kids were able to take a ride. Below is a kid of blurry picture of the kiddos with my dad and Ashley, my cousin's step-daughter.
Here they are trying to take off with the truck.
Cutsie toitsie! 13 more years and we'll be scared of Hannah behind the wheel.

Hannah riding on the tractor.
Caleb riding on the tractor.
This is the way Hannah and her babies travel...just teasing. While I was getting ready for one of the summer trips, Hannah decided that the suitcase made a great play toy.
Our neighborhood had a 4th of July parade, so Hannaha strolled her baby. Doesn't she look so patriotic?
The parade ended at the pool.
The kids stayed in Memphis for a few more days and Barry and I came back home. When I went to change the sheets on Hannah's bed, this is everyting that was in the bed, besides bedding. I don't even know how she had room in her bed with all of that stuff!!
Hannah playing a little ball at Aunt Stephy's house.
Caleb and cousin Anna looking at all things Web-kinz. I must say that Caleb is a bit addicted.
Aunt Jeana moving the kids out of the way before Daddy (in the yellow shorts) cannon balls the pool.
Just hangin' out.
Caleb helping Granddaddy mow the yard. It just irks me that this is blurry!!!
While we were in Memphis we met Mrs. Jenny and her daughter Keri (two great friends) for lunch. I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of Keri with the kids. Shame on me. Thanks for lunch Mrs. Jenny.
The kids playing on the slip-n-slide at Grandma's and Granddaddy's house.

OH MY LANDS - this is the biggest post I have ever done. I am EXHAUSTED now!!! Seriously now, we had a great summer and I can't wait to do it again next year. Ok, I think I am totally caught up on my pictures for a while - YAY! I hope you enjoy them. Time for me to do something productive around the house now, like laundry or something else almost as fun.
